Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

Victoria J. Duerstock (the "Company") operates Tend & Tell at tendandtell.app (the "Site"). The Site exists to hold some of the most personal material a family has โ€” its stories โ€” so privacy is not a formality here; it is the product. This statement explains what information the Site gathers and how it is used.

Your family's stories

The answers, memories, and photographs you contribute to your family's book are private to you and the people you choose to share them with. They are used only to provide the service โ€” storing your book as you build it, tending it editorially where your plan includes that, and producing your digital and printed editions. Your stories are never sold, never shared with third parties for their own use, never used for advertising, and never published by the Company without your written permission. (When you have given permission โ€” for example, a testimonial โ€” only what you approved is used.)

Information the Site collects

The Company does not automatically collect personally identifiable information when you visit. As part of the standard operation of internet servers, non-personal data such as browser type, operating system, and IP address may be recorded and used to improve the Site.

When you join the waitlist, download a free resource, purchase a plan, or contact us, you may be asked for contact information such as your name and email address. This information is used for the Company's legitimate business interests, including delivering what you asked for, improving products and services, and โ€” with your permission โ€” sending you Company communications you can opt out of at any time. Your contact information is never sold or leased to any third parties.

Payments

Purchases on the Site are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Your credit card information goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on the Company's servers. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by its own privacy policy.

Email

The Company's email list and communications are managed through Flodesk, a third-party email service provider, which stores subscriber information on the Company's behalf. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; you may also request removal at any time by writing to victoria@victoriaduerstock.com.

Children

The Site is intended for adults. The Company requests that you not submit personal information to the Site if you are 13 or younger. If the Company learns it holds identifiable information about a child 13 or under, that information will be deleted from its records. Children may of course appear in a family's stories โ€” that is Family Content, controlled by the account holder and covered above. Parents are encouraged to supervise their children's online activity and to review the FTC's resources on protecting children's privacy.

Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information a website transfers to your computer for record-keeping โ€” for example, remembering your progress and preferences on the Site. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can configure yours to refuse them or alert you when they are used. Disabling cookies may impair how the Site works.

Disclosure

The Company may disclose user information when necessary to identify or contact an individual causing injury to the Company's rights or property or to other users, or where required by law.

Malware and external links

Neither the Company nor the Site knowingly permits the use of malware, spyware, viruses, or similar software. The Site may link to external websites; the Company is not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and you should review any external site's privacy policy before sharing information with it.

Security

No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. The Company strives to protect your personal information and your family's stories, but cannot ensure the security of information you transmit, which you do at your own risk. We encourage you to keep your own copies of irreplaceable photographs and documents.

Your acceptance and changes to this policy

By using the Site, you accept the practices described here. The Company may revise this policy by updating this page; continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy. Please review it periodically.
